Meet "Poems," an enchanting indie group that’s redefining the soundscape of music today. Based in the vibrant city of San Diego, this dynamic ensemble is made up of five incredibly talented artists: Philip Ernest, Grayson Hagopian, Zae Howell, Sam McCubbin, and Jeremy Smucker. Together, they weave a rich tapestry of sound that pulls from the nostalgic echoes of yesteryear while infusing it with the fresh, innovative vibes of today’s hits.

What sets "Poems" apart is their unique ability to blend genres, seamlessly merging elements from various musical styles to create something entirely original. Each song they craft is like a journey, taking listeners through ethereal soundscapes that evoke deep emotions and resonate long after the last note fades. Having performed at some of California’s most iconic venues — including Belly Up Tavern, The Music Box, The Viper Room, and Brick & Mortar Music Hall — Poems continue to build strong momentum heading into 2026. With press coverage in magazines such as SPIN, EARMILK, and GENIUS, their summer West Coast tour is looking to turn heads. 

Sharing the stage with rising indie acts such as Never Ending Fall, Connor Kelly & The Time Warps, and Arms Akimbo, the band is earning widespread attention for their electrifying live performances.
